(April 30, 1967 - April 3, 2009)

 

Brian C. Maurer age 41, of Mansfield, formerly of Ashland, died unexpectently Friday April 3, 2009 at MedCentral Health System. He was born April 30, 1967 in Ashland, the son of Richard Maurer and Sue (Cline) Hoover. Brian was a graduate of Mapelton High School, he received his bachelors degree in Religion and philosophy from Ashland University and his masters of divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary. He was a security officer for Austin Protective at Cleveland ARTCC, and had previously been with Hospira (Abbott Labs) for 10 years. He attended and was an active member of Park Street Brethren Church along with the other local Brethren Churches where he was involved in all ministerial duties. Brian enjoyed fishing along with Rockets and model airplanes. Brian Maurer is the Owner of Solar-Creations.

Survivors include his fiancée Rebecca “Becca” Butler of Mansfield; two daughters Angel Maurer, Gabrielle Maurer; two sons Michael Maurer, Elijah Maurer all of Pickerington, his mother and step- father Sue and Randy L. Hoover of Ashland, and his two grandmothers Ms. JoAnn Wood of Florida and Mrs. Ruth Hoover of Ashland. Other survivors include his four sisters and brothers in-law, Tammy and Dennis Bole, Jennifer Gable, Rebecca and Shane Baker, and Randi and Mauricio Espinoza all of Ashland, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday April 11, 2009 at Heyl Funeral Home with Rev. Arden Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday April 10, 2009 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
